I have an Acer Aspire 5552-3691 laptop and my battery needed to be replaced,so I recently bought a new and installed it. It still says no battery detected though??? What should I do. When I click on it, it reads 'No Battery Is Detected'. The battery seems to work fine because I disconnect the power cord and the computer still works. Everything is happy in Device Manager, I tried reinstalling Boot Camp drivers, reseated the battery, and I even reinstalled Vista under battery power hoping it may detect it. 1st I would clear general corruption and repair/replace damaged/missing system files :
Start - type this in Search Box -> COMMAND find at top and RIGHT CLICK - RUN AS ADMIN
Enter this at the prompt - sfc /scannow

Run checkdisk - schedule it to run at next start and then Apply OK your way out then restart.

Old battery? Unplug power to computer - remove battery and clean the contacts with a pencil
eraser (do not use this if your battery has thin slots - just clean the knife edges that fit into
them and be careful). Batteries do wear out if old, or it could be a problem with the computer.
Check with the support of the system maker and many of them have on line forums.
Newer type Litium-Ion batteries usually last longer if you do not discharge then below 30%
however on a laptop that will not extend their life that much. Best is to use A/C adapter
whenever possible.

You might also want to check with the System Maker and any forums as many use their own
proprietary software to monitor the battery and their could be known issues with your battery.

Then Control Panel - Device Manager - Batteries - Double Click on each item - Drivers tab -
Update Drivers (which may not do anything) - then Right Click and UNINSTALL each -
REBOOT which will refresh the Driver stacks.

Thank you for posting.There could be that your battery is getting old and it might not be showing up in your BIOS.Before checking that let’s check some settings in Device manager. Check in device manage under ACPI setting. It will be the first line or
second line open it and see what the settings are. The battery can be enable
or disable from there.If you still have the problem then move to check the BIOS to see if it shows up there.You don’t have to change anything just see if the battery shows up.You laptop manufacturer can provide the steps to do this.

year of 'normal' use. While I have seen them last longer than this it
doesn't happen often. The exact amount of time you get out of the
battery will depend on environment and usage.
If the battery is not being detected in the BIOS then the problem is
either with the battery itself or the battery bay/motherboard on the
system. If you have access to another battery I would recommend trying
the other battery in your computerand your battery in the other
computer. Doing this will allow you to test whether your computer can
see any battery, or just fails to see yours.
If the problem is the bay/motherboard then I recommend you contact your laptop manufacturer.
